The academic staff of the department do research into the following theme:
“Design-ergonomic, technical, methodological, ecological, graphical, economical and protective provision of design education and design activity.”

The scientific and research topic of the department in a period of 2017-2019 is
“The methods of design-ecological expertise of industrial items and the objects of human activity.”

The teachers and students of the department participate actively in the All-Ukrainian and international conferences, prepare and publish scientific articles, take part in design displays.
