The Department of Graphic Design was formed in 1922, when the first graphic workshop was opened at the Kharkiv Art College. Today it is one of the most powerful design departments of Ukraine. A prerequisite for successful student learning is the combination of digital technology with artistic practices.
The main methods used by the teachers of the department are the study of classical works of art, the analysis of contemporary and historical objects of graphic design, participation in master classes by prominent Ukrainian and foreign designers

Techniques of printed graphics (screen printing, linocut, etching);
Projecting (elements of visual identification, branding, posters by types);
Technologies of prototyping the package;
History of graphic design;
Typography;
Prepress (technical process of polygraphic product making);
Computer graphics (Corel Draw, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign).

Master’s degree:

Conceptual design;
