Opening of the exhibition at the Lippe State Library
On May 24, 2023 there was an online meeting between Dr. Joachim Eberhardt, director of the Lippe State Library in Detmold, Mr. Jörg Düning-Gast, head of the Lippe association and sponsor of the library, Mr. Sven Koch, journalist of the regional newspaper LippischeLandes Zeitung, Eugeny Kotlyar from Kiev, Professor of monumental painting, and Tetyana Kasyanenko, head of the HudpromArt Art Center.
The meeting was held as part of the exhibition project A SELF-PORTRAIT WITH an APPLE. Self-presentation of the myth., presented/exhibited at the Lippe State Library in Detmold (North Rhine Westphalia).
The participants expressed their support to Ukrainian artists and students of the Academy. Eugeny Kotlyar thanked the organizers for the opportunity to exhibit the exposition at such a respected institution. He also answered a question about the idea, history and exhibition life of the project, which was familiar to viewers in many cities of Ukraine before the beginning of the war.
Now this project represents young Ukrainian women's art in Europe, which is an important cultural and symbolic message. Because of the war, many of the artists who participated in the project ended up in different countries of the world, and this project brought them together again, this time in Germany.
Eugeny Kotlyar is supervising this project online from Ukraine. In parallel with his work at the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Art, he also teaches as a visiting professor at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
Efforts to implement the exhibition are aimed at supporting the moral and creative mood of students, graduates, teachers and employees of KSADA who remain in Kharkiv, in close proximity to the hostilities.
